Life is a gamble!

Every small decision is a gamble. I made some decisions that demanded great risk. I didn't mind at all. It was all done and it is over. The important thing is there were lessons learned and I have moved on.

I don't really like to gamble, but my uncle once told me that in every little thing i do, I did gamble. Of course the truth behind is, we really don't have the power to see the future. So whether we are just chewing our food or breathe, we are already gambling.

I tried checking Gambling sites, to see how it really feels and how it is when gambling is already in my mind. I even tried to play, but I don't want to waste money to something that I'm really not sure of that I will win. The ironic thing is, I think people gamble to take risk. When just by the thought of doing it, they are already gambling.

Merry Christmas..

Christmas shopping is all about gifts. Of course, with parties here and there, what else would you be buying? If you are a nurse, would you be buying nursing scrubs in this season? I am sure you will forget about scrubs clothing and uniform. Would you be so bold as to pick the Christmas season to pick a new pair of scrub pants? I don't think so. Why would people be thinking about uniforms, especially not nurse uniforms this Christmas? Unless of course, you are attending a themed party where a scrub top or a scrubs pant is the required attire.

Well, if that is the case, I think it is a good idea to buy cheap scrubs rather than those expensive ones. But do you know where to buy cheap scrubs? Do you a scrub clothing that you can order them from? Sure, scrub tops may just be simple looking, but they come in quite a hefty amount. Better make sure that you are getting them from an affordable source, especially those that will be used only once.

As for me, I would look in eBay or search Google for a good find. Who knows?

Oldest House in Sg?

We came from Emily Hill on e afternoon and explored the area in Little India.. So far, this is what we found as the oldest house.. Look at it, it even has the year it was built on it.. But is it really the oldest? Uhm.. We'll ask around..

Iced Milo

Every time we go out, my sister and I always find people drinking Iced Milo in plastic bags. I find it quite amusing because here in the Philippines, people do not drink Milo that way. Then, when we had a meeting with Sasi at one of the Chinese restos, we ordered Iced Milo.. It was good. Now I know why people are drinking Milo so much in Singapore..

Happy Birthday Tito Noel

I saw the pictures uploaded by my sister tonight where they were at Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Well, if I have not had to renew my passport I could have joined them too. It was such a grand excuse to celebrate a birthday, and to be at Singapore for more than a month.. hehehe.. Well, according to my sister, ny uncle used his Premier Advantage card for the said celebration. The suite room as well as the dinner buffet at the Rise.. I am sure it is expensive. The room is $700 plus a night and the dinner is $80 plus, per head. OMG! That was quite a lot of money. I am sure even if I will take on payday loans online, I still will not be able to afford it. There were like twenty people or so for the dinner, family, friends and colleagues of Tito Noel.. But you wanna know a secret? Tito Noel have earned so much points in his Premier Advantage card that he has enough to spend for three to four nights and days at a suite room plus that very dinner. Such points can not be redeemed in any way but to spend it on room charges as well as food. So no need of payday loans online.. Certainly NOT payday loans online....

Well, what a happy birthday really.. And although I am not there, my heart wishes everyone the best, especially the celebrant... Happy Birthday Tito Noel...

Let There Be Light

What's Christmas without a single ampoule. An ampoule led will surely make a brighter illumination. And I heard that achat ampoule is the best. Well, dear readers, I am talking about lights and lighting. We all know that decorating during Christmas entails lighting, and lights play a magical effect, don't you agree?

So anyway, as we were passing by Orchard, we saw how wonderful the lights were. They were fairy tale like. Amazing.. I wish there would be lights in our home too.

Off with the Toxins

Don't be shocked as to what these pads are from my feet. It so happened that my sister and I bought pads for detox at the Chinese medical clinic in Admiralty, and used it on our feet. The stained pads you see here are the results of an overnight detoxification..
We bought the product below, which is actually a good product from Japan..
This is how we placed each pad on each our foot.. This is after we have taken a bath and are sure we are no longer going out of bed..

My 2nd week in Singapore

Monday : We went to CMIS to take the exam and do the mock interview. It turn out fine since it was just brief and easy. We had to back to house after we ate at the all Filipino food since we moved out from the condominium in Ceylon Road to the apartment in Woodlands. We fixed our things up and get ourselves adjusted in our new home.

Tuesday: We didn't go out for job hunting instead we called out the numbers on the news papers for job interest, sad to know though that most of them are looking for Singaporeans/PR/Malaysians. We went out for a stroll in the community and we found out that there is a space for exercise sessions where they provide the exercising area for free of use to anyone. We gave it a shot and intended to do it everyday.

Wednesday: We went for an interview at Mindlinks in serangoon, where we took and 30 minutes ride to Bishan and went to the Yellow lane interchange and took the other mrt lane. We asked and Indian how to go there but he didn't provide a clear detail so we asked a Singaporean, she was very friendly and even informed us that we shall go with her instead. When we get there, the interview was just easy but we were asked to pay S$100 for the EPASS to be processed and no assurance that it will be granted. The company will not provide us with basic salary instead it will be commissioned-based. So we instead informed the person-in-charge that we will just come back for it. We explored around serangoon area,we found a catholic church and a crocodile farm which is kinda eerie. We also tried Indian/Malay food at seven stars. Then we went back home because the sky is beginning to be gloomy and it seemed it will rain.

Thursday: We went to Teleperformance in Tae Seng. Took the same Mrt lane dropping off at Bishan and took the yellow lane MRT off to Tae Seng. We just walked from the Exit A to the Natural Cool Lifestyle Hub. The interview was easy as well but they will just be calling short listed applicants. At 2:45PM we had an orientation schedule, it was for the Herbal Life company, we were informed on how to go about our diet and all. It was in Bugis Village so we had the chance as well to go around the vicinity. We tried their food. When we needed to go home, instead of going home to Woodlands, we went to Ceylon Road and we also took a dip in the pool.

Friday: Not quite a busy day, will be going back home to woodlands in a while...

My 1st week in Singapore

My cousins, Princess, Precious, King and Kyna Dy are also here in Singapore. Good for them they are here for purely leisure. While me and my sister are here for job hunting. Our 1st day of the hunt, we went to our uncle's agency, printed and submitted our resume for them to help us look for a job as well. We took a short walk around Orchard Blvd to see the big city's shopping district only to find out we cannot find the subway...so we had to go back to my uncle's office to ask. My 2nd day was awful yet exciting, I had stomachache due to their water. They said that their tap water is clean...that is only to those who got used to it. The exciting part though is that we went out to the park for barbecue and met up with our other cousins, they're quite a shy and silent types though so never had the chance to talk about a lot of things, in other words its a one answer to your question moment. But i enjoyed the barbecue, the bike ride an the park itself. Take note, their community park has no mosquitoes around or I was never bitten by one and to think I am prone to being bitten by mosquitoes. My 3rd day was exhausting so it was purely rest. My 1st Sunday here in Singapore is funny because I can't remember the church that I went to way back in 2006, we had to look for one for us to hear mass. We went to Saint Andrews, seeing that there is a Filipino Service scheduled at 2PM, late to realized that it was not a mass but only a typical Community Service when we were already there. So since we were not comfortable being there, we went out and look for a church that is not ecclesiastical but catholic. From Saint Andrews, we walked all the way to Raffles City and to Bugis Village. It took us an hour to find a church in St. Joseph, good thing their mass is yet to start at 5PM. whew!

I will be posting other details of my trips especially this Singapore trip on my other blog page mga suroy-suroy or in english translation...my travels.

the arrival

I arrived in Singapore at around 8:55 tonight. I waited for my uncle and sister to fetch me at the Changi Airport. But my uncle arrived alone and late. He has forgotten all about my arrival because he is a really busy businessman here in Singapore. The 1st funny experience is on our way out to his car. We were running as fast as we could because my uncle is afraid he might get a ticket for illegal parking and it will cost him S$200 to get his license back. He was not on hazard because of course he left the car to find me. Good thing the police wasn't able to get to us.

To go or not to go: that is the question!

I have a scheduled ticket to Singapore on November 3rd and a return ticket on December 3. With the current situation, I am weighing things out if I will go or not considering the expenses of the travel and Ira's expenses. I didn't received my pay for the end of this month, is this a sign or what?

Buy NOW..

A basketful of Lanzones

This is what is on our table right now. A basket full of Lanzones from my mother's trip yesterday. Actually that is about eight kilos of Lanzones, five of which she bought for only P 150.00 and the three kilos additional was given by her office mate. The basket of course, is not part of the pricing,lol.. It came separately, and when she arrived, she simply placed the Lanzones in it, which made us think she bought the entire basket from a vendor somewhere.. Hehehe

Wanna Play..

I wanna try playing Slot games at the Casino, or even those online. Although, I was told that the two are not necessarily the same in game and game rules. Well, whatever and however they go, I am curious at how they will be played. I have read about them and all I can read are winnings, winnings and more winnings. But how to play? That is my concern, lol..

the silence

The silence in the room is deafening, I am the only left for now since Kent and Ira are in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte for the wake. I will be leaving on the 15th since the burial services will be on the 16th. I thank my immediate supervisor for allowing me to have a bereavement leave even though the person who died is not an immediate relative. The funny thing is I have a bereavement leave, plus the core leave of ten days and then on Nov. 1 will be the effective date of my resignation. Now I am having second thoughts of leaving....huhuhu

the mournings...

I just arrived from NAIA terminal 3 where I accompanied Kent and Ira to catch the plane for CDO. Though it is too late for them to see Mama Philind in person but the thought that Kent's promise to come home to visit her is accomplished. It is sad though that instead of a visiting somebody alive and breathing, they were just visiting somebody cold. For Kent I understand it is really hard to lose a mother to whom he is very attached with considering that he is a certified mama's boy. For Ira, it is sad as well since at a very young age of 1 year old, she can't remember any of these. Another sad thing is she couldn't witness his son's wedding in flesh. With this incident we have to move the wedding after a year of mourning. I pray that God will open His arms in welcoming Mama Philind and that she will be an added angel to look upon us and guide us always.

Rest in peace Mama Philind!

10 10 10

October 10, 2010.. 10 10 10 is said to be a lucky date.. Not quite. Because at 5:30 in the morning today, my beloved's mother passed away. I am so sorry to say that life and death are synonymous and for some luck is what they have in mind, but we, especially my beloved, are in mourning..

Condolence to the Garcia Family..

New Discovery: NMEDA

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Today I blog hopped and found out more about NMEDA, a non-profit trade association who help educate consumers on buying products from a NMEDA qualified dealer. In fact, it is the only association that promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. And upon reading this, I have felt this urgency to write about this as I feel everyone must know about this non-profit organization, and how their members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Just to make things clear, NMEDA dealers (mostly NMEDA members) are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people, and not the organization itself.

One of the important learning I gathered is that, No two people with a disability are exactly the same. Meaning, all people with disability have varied needs, thus,  adapted wheelchair vehicles sold over the Internet or through catalogs are not at all helpful for some. Before a purchase is to be made, a personalized “in-person” evaluation will be done so that family and the client himself  can be sure of getting the right driving solution customized to the specific lifestyle and needs of the client. Additional training or product refinements will be given when necessary by NMEDA dealers, should help be requested.

Now, NMEDA dealership is governed by the Quality Assurance Program (QAP), which  is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry, that is based on the principle "that in order to satisfy customers consistently, companies must have a systematic and documented approach to quality".

Knowing all these, I  would like to recommend the Adaptive Mobility Equipment that NMEDA dealers are selling as I know that it can benefit, not only the client but also the caregiver or the specific family member who is assigned to assist the client in all undertakings. and how an NMEDA qualified dealer could assist. At least the tool can readily extend help to mobilize the client and not just stay indoors to bore.

I think the product can also be advantageous for the elderly or disabled to get back onto the road of independence with less or no supervision.

I'm What Kind of Gelato?

Here's a quiz I took after seeing all the yummy Gelato in my sister's blog.. When I arrive at CDO, I will eat plenty of Gelato at Missy Bon Bon too..

You Are Caramel Gelato

You are naturally nurturing without even trying to be. People are soothed by your presence.

You are a devoted friend and family member. You are always there in a time of crisis.

You stick with people through good times and bad. You don't abandon the ones you love.

Empathy is very easy for you. You have no trouble imagining yourself in someone else's shoes.

My Blogs Need a Make Over

I had been a blogger for many many months already and I have not even bothered to change my look. Not until this blog got a bad day while doing posts, so I had to change the old theme to this new one, and it has not changed since then. To begin with, I am using this Free template which came from a site that designs Blogger themes as well as wordpress themes. They also offer wordpress web hosting, which I would have wanted to consider, but I didn't quite understand so I simply let the blog free of it. Since I have another blog which really uses wordpress, I could make changes easily in that blog than in this blog, using the many great themes that they offer for free and some, since they are personalized, come with a minimal fee.

I have yet to find the best wordpress themes for that blog of mine. But still, I have yet to find the best theme for this blog and do a make over, lol.. Well, I always love make overs. Speaking of which, a blogger's event will be happening tomorrow and I am supposed to be part of it. Unfortunately, I cannot attend. I have to be at the airport to attend to my beloved's departure as he will be going home for his mom's wake and funeral.. I wish I could go too, but I have work and well, I will be in Cagayan de Oro for my leave anyway, so we may meet halfway..

We just have to accept that there are things in life that we can not control. But when it comes to blogs and themes, we all know that we can control and decide the outcome..  I just wish I am knowledgeable enough so I can do the html  tweaking myself. Oh well, gotta learn them as fast as I can..

The Cowboy and Angel Locsin

Guess who is this cowboy with Angel Locsin in this photo? That's my brother and he was one of the cowboys in the scene where Piolo Pascual and some cowboys of Bukidnon fought with a bull in the arena.. His girlfriend was one of the girls together with Angel Locsin as they also fought with the Bull and won..

Taxi/Cab Modus Operandi

My father called me the other day and told me about the frightful happenings in our city, Cagayan de Oro City.  See, according to the news, there had already been three, as of today, victims of kidnapping and most of them take the taxi, where the driver will eventually sell them for P 2,000 to P 3,000 to would be flesh consumers.

A victim had been reported to have escaped after she was sold, but thank God was never harmed by her attackers. She was about to be raped by the clients of the driver..

I wish there could be something that the government can do about this and fast..

The Seat Plan

I found this image in Facebook. I was so thrilled at the thought of our seat plan in High school that I was feeling nostalgic..

Sweeter Than Life

Here is a photo taken by my sister while they were at the Lim Ket Kai Mall last Sunday. The couple were very sweet and they remind me of my parents. When a couple gets married for the right reason and they glow within each other's company, then it is surely a sign that the marriage will last and that no amount of tests or acts of "gambling" will show. And I am not talking about Online casino gambling here, okay. I am talking about emotional as well as psychological gambling. We take risks. And sometimes, our risks take us to its keeping.

I sure would like a happy ending for every couple in the world. But sometimes, things happen. Then can we say, what's meant to be will be, and what's not meant to be shall be separated in due time..
